The Advantages of Twitter
It never really occurred to me how useful Twitter can be. I've always been a bit apprehensive in accepting the advances of social media as legitimate sources of information. However, after creating our Twitter accounts and exploring the Twitter world, I have a new understanding of the advantages of it. Twitter makes it so easy to get the message out quickly and directly, something that is very important in the marketing world. It also allows for a more direct control of the message to its target market. In addition, I think Twitter also personalizes a business more by almost providing a "face" to the business. The only question I have, is how long will it last? Technology is always evolving, so how long will Twitter really stay around for and be such a dominant form of information?

Taylor, I agree. I have never been big on twitter and now after checking it out and getting used to using it, I can really see how it is so big now. It's definitely a huge benefit to the marketing world whether you are trying to market yourself or your company. As for the future, twitter just needs to evolve with technology and always make changes to keep its popularity.
ReplyDeleteI started a twitter account earlier this year after hearing about it from my friend. I think its a way for a lot of facebook users that love to update often, and another outlet instead of blowing up their facebook page all the time. I think twitter will be around for a while because it can be used as a facebook for a business and is very similar to facebook but can be used in a less personal form if you choose to.
ReplyDeleteI get to use twitter for work and it's a pretty sweet tool. I usually will search for our companies name and retweet positive tweets, respond to negative ones, and then tweet our own stuff that needs to get out.
ReplyDeletePersonally I was hesitant to join it for a long time. But now I love it, its a fun way to chat with friends and keep in touch. Its also fun to follow celebrities and get to know their personalities. I also use twitter as a news source, whenever I hear a rumor, like so and so died or some other event, I now always check twitter first. It usually has the information there first, as its quicker to send out a tweet than to write up and publish a whole news article
